Travis McPhee grew up in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and from a young age the Rocky Mountains have always been a part of his life. As a kid and through his teenage years, Travis was a successful ski racer, and his love and respect for the Mountains grew each and every day.
In 2012, Travis set a goal to summit Mount Everest while raising money for charity. Choosing the right charity was very important to him, and after careful consideration, he decided on Big Brothers Big Sisters of Calgary and Area. "We all have mentors in our lives, and I have several in my live today", says Travis. "BBBS really resonates with me, and I feel motivated and inspired to attempt this climb not just for myself, but also on their behalf as well", he adds.
Travis continues, "I appreciate the Canadian Progress Club – Calgary Bow River's sponsorship and support in all aspects of the fundraising, enabling me to mentally and physically prepare for this challenging climb", adding "I'm overwhelmed and grateful with the tremendous commitment and corporate sponsorship they've raised thus far".
There are three ways you can support Travis McPhee's Summit Mount Everest:

On this site, you can follow Travis as he trains for his Mount Everest climb. You'll find videos of his "Everest training climb" on Mount Pumori (also in the Himalaya's) this October. We'll keep you updated as we move closer to the Summit Mount Everest climb and you can also show your support and appreciation by visiting Travis McPhee on Facebook.
There's also information about the sponsors, whom without their in-kind and financial assistance this Expedition wouldn't be possible. Last but not least, you'll find information on our charity, Big Brothers Big Sisters.
